How do I go about sending in my pipe for repair?

Most of the following FAQ’s address typical questions, but if you need more info or clarification, we will be happy to spend time with you to understand your service needs and answer your questions.

How do I ship my pipe?

Whether you have a 2 or 4 stroke pipe, choose a box size that will leave 1 to 3” of space between the pipe and the inside of the box all around to prevent shipping damage. Don’t go too large; though, shipping rates increase with box size. Use your choice of carrier, whether it’s UPS, FedEx or the Post Office. A delivery signature is not required and will prevent delays with your shipment.

What information do I need

to provide?

Please provide your name, return address and telephone number, along with the make, model and year of each pipe inside the box.

How long does it take?

Our normal turn around time is 1-2 days. However, if you need your pipe back quickly for a ride or race, please let us know and we will ensure it goes back out the same day it’s received.

What does the $60 cover?

All service related damage is covered for the repair cost. This includes dents, cracks, bends, broken brackets, twisting/bending out of alignment, carbon removal from the inside, rust/grease/dirt removal and surface finish restoration. The only extra charge would be to repair a previous repair attempt if it is not acceptable. If your pipe only needs limited repair, such as repair of cracks, or just refinishing, please call and we will adjust the price accordingly.

What options do I have for surface finish?

Nickel-plated 2-stroke pipes are grit-blasted to remove grease, rust & dirt. Following repair, the surfaces are polished to match the original finish. A hi-temperature clear coat is applied to seal the pipe and prevent rust from recurring. The end result is very similar to the original finish.

Works-type pipes that are a bare metal finish are treated similarly to the nickel-plated pipes. Following repair, the metal is polished out and hi-temperature clear coating is applied to prevent rusting or they can be painted with hi-temperature flat-black.

Stock pipes that are originally painted flat black can either be repainted flat black, or polished and clear-coated.

Titanium and Stainless steel headers can be polished out to a shiny silver appearance and clear-coated if desired to prevent the pipe from turning blue or light brown after use.
